Don Cabellero 3

It (the Divine Order at the heart of All Things) is everywhere and Don Cab are Its favourite band and this song is a translation of Its favourite song (the original is actually best understood as a colour that lives rather than music as we would think of it), which encompasses the unity of poles of all resistance underlying Glorious Harmony. I talked to the drummer a while ago in Brighton, and yelled things about form and precision, but he was like Uh, cool, thanks… So, uh, cool. This song starts waves, and it goes all HOLIDAY!!! six minutes in. Because hey, calypso, right?

Crispy Bacon

Very first post, and the very first song that came on was Crispy Bacon by Laurent Garnier. Which is nice, because this was one of the very first techno songs that ever really grabbed me (before that it was just whatever was playing in Games Workshop or whichever Prodigy song David Long was into). It reminds me of sitting in my classmate John Thompson’s lounge after school wondering desperately what a) drugs and b) raves were like, even though John Thompson’s lounge was about as far from the transcendental experience promised by this. This. THIS. THIS. What font is “sublime”, exactly?
